Carol Brecker is certified as a 1st level Jonin Somu teacher; is a member of the Sogetsu Teachers Association; and Chairperson for the Arizona Sonoran Desert Sogetsu Study Group under the direction of the Sogetsu school and foundation in Tokyo, Japan. She is an avid student of ikebana since 2002 and teacher since 2006. She travels to Japan and around the U.S. to learn and teach.
Carol sensei loves teaching and takes great pleasure in sharing Sogetsu ikebana basics, tradition, and techniques with her students. Weekly lessons also include how to prepare, preserve, alter, and use floral and branch materials in unusual and interesting ways to keep arrangements fresh and intriguing.
